As would a classic links, Metropolitan has a spacious and open feel, with a canopy of
sky and long views to the Oakland Hills, the Bay, downtown Oakland, and San Francisco
bracketing the horizon. Light winds off the Bay will often be a factor in the strategy
and shot selection of the savvy player.
Variety in hole length and orientation will maximize the variety in length of approach
shots and club selection. The front and back nines are balanced at Out - Par 36; In - Par 36;
Total - Par 72, with both nines returning to the Clubhouse and central facilities. The course
can play to 7015 yards from the pro tees, 6600 yards from the long tees, 6135 to 5665 yards
from the regular tees and 5080 yards from the forward tees and will be set up in cognizance
of prevailing winds
"Metropolitan Golf Links will test all level of players and will become a championship-links
that offers a great golf experience and spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay."
